Water and land animals have differences. Water animals tend to have no feet or webbed feet (like a duck), so that they can swim. Land animals often have feet with claws that help them to move. Water animals do not have fur. Land animals often have fur or some other way to stay warm. Can you think of any more differences between land and water animals? These differences help the animals. Bears do not need to be able to swim quickly, but they do need to be able to climb and stay warm on land. Fish do not need to be able to climb, but they do need to be able to swim quickly. How might the differences you thought of between land and water animals help them to be better able to live? |
