The Northeast region, sometimes called New England, includes the states Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.
 
       
 

Physical Traits

The Atlantic Coast of New England has many islands, bays, and coves. There are flat lands and mountainous lands. This region is famous for its autumn foliage (changing colors of the leaves).

Climate

New England experiences different weather in each season. Winters are cold and snowy, while springs are warm and muddy. Summers are hot and sometimes humid, and falls are still warm but getting colder as the leaves change colors.
