The Southeast region, sometimes split into the Southeast and Appalachian Highlands, includes ALL of these states. West Virginia, Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida are all in the Southeast. |

Physical Traits The southeast is known for the Appalachian Mountains, the Mississippi River, and its cotton farming. There are forests, swamps, wetlands, and islands in this region. |
Climate The northern part of this region has warm weather generally all year, and there is snow in the Appalachians Mountains. In the south, the winters are warm, and the summers are very hot and humid.
