The Mayans built cities all over their lands in Central America and continue to live there today.Each city was different. All cities had at the center large plazas. Around the plazas were important buildings. These buildings were kings palaces, temples, and ball courts.

Surrounding these religious temples, palaces, and ball courts were smaller palaces and temples. These were of less important than the bigger religious temples and palaces.

Surrounding the smaller temples and palaces were the homes of the common people. These homes were huts.They look like the cardboard huts in the classroom.
